Dear Chamber Members,

For our second “Memo to Membership,” I am happy to report to you a number of updates within the Chamber staff for 2012. These updates represent our effort to focus on key initiatives important our members and our community, including:

Supporting the Local Economy through economic development, business advocacy & support for job creation.

• Promoting our Community
through tourism development, festivals and new special events; here, we are leveraging the success of our Salmon Days Festival team to support new events that will bring dollars to our community and reinforce Issaquah’s brand as a leading northwest community to live, work, raise a family or enjoy our amenities.

• Enhancing Membership Benefits, Services & Programs to support a growing Chamber and provide you with even greater value for your investment. Look for more services, more benefits, more connections and more opportunities to help you succeed.

• Providing More Networking Opportunities to help you connect with other members, develop strong referral networks, and build their word-of-mouth branding across Issaquah and the Eastside.

Here is our staff team and general areas of responsibility for 2012:

Matthew Bott, Chief Executive Officer (Full Time)
Strategic plan support and implementation, Board communication and support, organizational alignment, government relations, economic development, staff management and public relations. Support for Board meetings, Executive/Budget and Government Affairs Committees.

Nathan Perea, Director of Membership Development (Full Time)
Management and development of membership benefits/services portfolio; new member outreach and onboarding, strategic membership outreach, connection and networking; membership satisfaction; strategic and administrative support for Membership Committee and strategic support Business Development Committees.

Tricia Barry, Director of Events and Communications (Full Time)
Management and development of member events portfolio (networking events, membership luncheons, seminars, etc.) Management and development of communications mediums including newsletters, email communications, social media outreach, website management, etc. Strategic/administrative support for Ambassadors and Education Committees; administrative support for business development committee.

Laura Walker, Membership Support Specialist/Vendor & Event Manager (Part Time)
Support for membership programs, outreach and database management; Vendor manager for various community events; lead events manager for special events, as assigned.

Robin Kelley, Director of Festivals (Full Time)
Salmon Days Festival management, outreach and strategic development; Development and support of community celebration and community promotion events. Production and strategic support for tourism-focused events and initiatives. Support for Festival Committee.

Pauline Middlehurst, Spawnsorship Manager (Full Time)
Salmon Days Festival support and event productions, spawnsor outreach and support, development and support of community celebration and community promotion events. Production and strategic support for tourism-focused events and initiatives. Support for Festival Committee.

Mary Ann Rupe, VIC and Tourism Support Manager (Part Time)
Visitor Information Center support and management; volunteer training; office and administrative support. Tourism program support.

Jan Bodine, Membership Support Assistant (Part Time)
Support for membership-related projects and events including ribbon cuttings, special event support, membership outreach projects.

Tourism Development (To Be Announced)
In support of the Chamber’s tourism promotion efforts, we will be working with the Tourism Committee, Board of Directors and key strategic partners to continue to support this developing industry. Look for more information soon on our work in this area.
