Chamber Hiring for New Positions
The Chamber is seeking applicants for the following paid, internship and contract positions. Applicants are asked to submit resume and cover letter, or any inquires, to Matthew Bott, Chamber CEO, at mbott@issaquahchamber.com.
Administrative Assistant (Part Time)
Support administrative functions including database management, correspondence, office projects, etc. Provide support for membership programs and events; other duties as assigned. Position is part time (20-25hours/week); Hourly compensation: $10.00-$12.00/hour; Potential for increased hours depending on available resources.
Business Intern (Post Graduate Internship) (Part Time/Paid)
Support Chamber’s membership services, special events and programs; provide hands-on support in working directly with Chamber staff, committees, Board of Directors and area businesses including membership outreach and related functions; receive mentoring and professional development from Chamber CEO and staff members; Hourly compensation: $10.00-$12.00/hour; Approximately 20-25 hours/week. Position is temporary but may be extended at discretion of management. Potential for increased hours depending on available resources. Position is ideal for a soon to be or recent 4-year or 2-year college graduate.
Tourism Coordinator (Contractor/Part Time)
Provide program development, marketing services and sales support to Chamber’s growing tourism/community promotion functions. Work collaboratively with local tourism amenities, Chamber/City staff to further develop tourism strategic plan for the community. Skills/experience sought includes work in tourism promotion, destination marketing, lodging/small group/convention sales, special events, etc. Work is estimated at approximately 40 hours/month for 8-12 months. Contract payment rate is to-be-determined. Potential for renewal of contract.
Special Events/Tourism Intern (Unpaid) (2-4 Positions)
Provide support to Chamber’s special events programs including the annual Salmon Days Festival, 4th of July Celebration, and other major events. Work directly with Chamber staff and event committees on all aspect of event marketing, production and development. Positions are available for both 3 months (summer) and 6 months (summer/fall). Positions are geared towards students in high school or college.
Management/Government Affairs Intern (Unpaid) Part Time
Work directly with Chamber staff and board/committee leaders on executing the business of the chamber including administrative functions, business outreach/networking, special events and seminars and government relations. Perfect for a student interested in gaining exposure to the business community, working in a fast paced-professional environment, and focusing on areas such as business-government relations, business communications, etc.
