Density, Building Height & Affordable Housing

A big discussion about the delicate balance between increasing development density in the urban core, building height to ensure the development pencils out, how this supports affordable housing and meets the community's goals of a livable, walkable community with preserved open spaces, quality viewscapes, and neighborhood connectedness.   It is clear that with these interrelated and somewhat competing goals, the plan must strike the correct balance to achieve its objectives.  Overall, these are the right things for a growing community in the Puget Sound region to be discussing, as the plan will help guide the redevelopment of most of Issaquah's commercial space.  Environmental groups, business groups and citizens agree...this concept has great potential to support and guide Issaquah's growth in the next 30 years.
