About Athletes For Kids

Our mission is to change the lives of children with disabilities and special needs and to improve our communities by educating youth and modeling inclusion and acceptance.

We serve elementary and middle school children who have physical, neurological, or emotional disabilities by pairing each child (mentee) with a qualified high school athlete (mentor). Founded on the idea that friendship has the power to restore a child’s faith in life, we were incorporated as a non‐profit in 2002. Since that time, we have grown from a small group at one school to an organization serving families in Issaquah, Sammamish, Bellevue, Redmond, and surrounding areas.
