History Bites: Guided Walking Tour Guide Training

Writer: Greater Issaquah Chamber of CommerceGreater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce

Do you enjoy telling stories? Do you love getting to know your community, and sharing it with others? Be part of the Issaquah History Museums' dynamic history hike program! Each year, more than 500 people experience Issaquah's past through a history hike, walk or pub crawl. This popular program is expanding quickly -- and we need your help to keep it growing! Thanks to a grant from 4Culture, we've designed this training program for people who are interested in leading history walks, hikes, or crawls for the Issaquah History Museums, and who already enjoy speaking in public. Our program will help you craft stories that inform about Issaquah's past, while capturing the interest and imagination of its listeners Participants will receive a copy of Images of America: Issaquah, Washington, as well as a free one-year membership to the Issaquah History Museums, along with all the benefits that includes. Dessert will also be provided at each of the six training sessions. During a series of evening training sessions, museum staff members will work with you to: * Explore the main themes of Issaquah's past. * Find a story or two that capture your imagination. * Reveal resources that will help bring that story to life with details. * Lead a public tour that includes your story.

This event is free to the public.

Wednesday May 24th, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
