There will be some exciting changes in the Gilman Corridor and we want to ensure that the community's voice will be heard throughout this process!
There's a need to improve NW Gilman Blvd - from SR 900 to Front St N. Together with Issaquah residents, corridor users and local business owners, the City is developing a strategic plan for Gilman.
There are two ways the City would like to receive your input to shape the future of Gilman! First, you're invited to attend one of four identical business oriented workshops. The purpose of these workshops is to:
1. Introduce you to the project; 2. Discuss goals for Gilman; 3. Discuss existing corridor assets that should be protected or enhanced; and 4. Discuss challenges and opportunities specific to you that could be addressed with this project.
While we believe it would be most beneficial for you attend a workshop, we understand that it may be difficult for you to step away during the scheduled times. We are also offering informal drop-in sessions where you can guide yourself through the material and still provide feedback to us. The drop-in sessions are not limited to business owners or managers, so please encourage your employees to attend as well.
SCHEDULED WORKSHOPS
1. Thursday, June 14th 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
2. Thursday, June 14th 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM
3. Thursday, June 14th 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
4. Friday, June 15th 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Workshops and drop ins will be held in the Atlas Apartments Community Space located at 1036 7th Ave NW. Please RSVP to Gilman@issaquahwa.gov and let us know which workshop you can attend.
The next step is gathering input through The City's online survey which launched May 14th. The purpose off this survey is to document project goals, and identify a range of improvements that are possible for Northwest Gilman Boulevard.
This is not your average survey.
You will be asked to mark up a map and answer questions about specific places along Northwest Gilman Boulevard.
Please take the survey here: http://bit.ly/gilmancorridor
The survey will remain open between May 14th and July 13th, so there is plenty of time make sure everyone has a chance to share their experience.
Please share this survey with your friends, neighbors, coworkers, tenants – anyone who lives, works, OR plays in Issaquah!
