Economic Relief: Get to Know Your 8th District Representative - Congresswoman Kim Schrier

Office of Rep. Kim Schrier

At the start of the pandemic, I was proud to join my colleagues from around the country to support the CARES Act and provide much needed relief for families and small businesses. In direct aid, Issaquah received $1,794,000 which has been used to support human services, small businesses, downtown business operations, and more. The CARES Act also included funding for many federal agencies, which you may have experienced as expanded SNAP benefits, Economic Impact Payments of $1,200, and significant assistance for healthcare providers.

Many of you have received a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) forgivable loan. While this program experienced some challenges, it channeled significant assistance to Isssaquah's small businesses, the backbone of our local economy and the places we know and love that give Issaquah its character and charm:

  • 1,012 PPP loans

  • 8,042 jobs supported

  • Over $74 million directly to Issaquah business owners

I will continue to work with my colleagues in the House to push for renewed COVID-19 economic relief for you and your families.

Congresswoman Kim Schrier represents Washington’s 8th District, including Issaquah.
