Greater Issaquah Chamber Supports Local Economy by Purchasing Gift Cards

Recently, the Chamber has purchased almost $3,000 worth of local gift cards to give to prize winners from the Salmon Open Golf Tournament and the Salmon Days Virtual Competitions.

Winners at the Golf Tournament were allowed to choose which company they wanted. For the Recipe, Rock Painting, Chalk Art, and Coloring Competitions we purchased gift cards from local restaurants in varying amounts. Gift cards all ranged in value from $125.00 to $20.00. In total 57 gift cards were purchased.

Besides first, second and third place awards, a few of Honorable Mentions were added to coloring and chalking contests. There were so many wonderful entries that judges just couldn’t eliminate some of the entries. So we simply added a few more awards.

The Chamber felt it was important not to ask the business community to donate. We believe all of us need to do everything we can to help our businesses during these challenging times. Cards were purchased from many local businesses including:

  • Jak’s

  • Levitate Gastropub

  • Agave Cocina & Tequila

  • Costco

  • Big Fish Grill

  • Boarding House

  • Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzeria

  • Ivar’s

  • Fischer Meats

  • Garlic Crush

  • 12th Ave. Cafe

  • Thai Ginger

Salmon Days is never really over. Don’t forget that many of the virtual Salmon Days events can be enjoyed year round. The Salmon Hike can be taken anytime, and Coloring Sheets can still be downloaded from www.SalmonDays.org and enjoyed. Even though the contests are over; people can still paint rocks, create salmon recipes, and chalk out drawings. We will gladly share your photos if you send them to: events@salmondays.com.

We look forward to seeing everyone in person when the right time arrives. In the meantime, the Vendor Shopping and Salmon Gear pages are all still live. There are some super fun photos and videos of parades gone by, and there are other fun things to do on the Activities pages for you and the kiddos! Be sure to bookmark www.SalmonDays.org and visit often as we start to add 2021 content to the site.
